Complex Hand Surgery Put Gold Pro Back on Course

Dana Hand surgery

When LGPA golf pro Dana suffered a devastating hand injury while playing polo, she knew her career as a golf professional was on the line. No longer able to move her thumb, she went to see Dr. Paul Fragner, an experienced hand specialist, who explained that she had fractured her wrist and ruptured a tendon to her thumb. At her friend Jean’s insistence, she opted for a complex surgical procedure.

"The doctor borrowed one of the tendons and attached it to my thumb, so now I can have mobility in my thumb," Dana explains, "Without this surgery, I would be handicapped for life." Now, Dana has returned to the sport she loves with no pain and says, "I wouldn't go anywhere else."
